It's been done, finally! The most requested feature that every Yahoo! and MSN lacked is finally here. You can chat with Yahoo! friends using MSN and vice versa. A copy of the Windows Messenger that allows this is available here.
For the rest of us people behind restrictive firewalls, there's still Meebo which supports Jabber in addition to the other two IM clients. Unfortunately, there still seem to be some issues with conferencing between users of MSN and Yahoo on meebo.
If you want a client that connects to AIM, Jabber, Yahoo, MSN and ICQ you'll still find the Yahoo! and MSN Messengers lacking. In that case, I'd suggest you go with GAIM or Trillian.

I have GAIM and I must say that it is excellent. Clean interface and all the required features are there. AND it's free. Stable too.
Trillian is paid (for the version that supports Jabber), is too fancy, has bad skins and uses a lot of memory.
That trio didn't look too happy with the product.

Silence Chetan, I didn't know BBC changed it's links around so much. Well, I've got a rather more stable source now, I think.
What the heck is blog verification?
Ask not, Wordpress keeps sending out these pings everytime I update. Must be something related to that.
And a chinese news site is stable? No matter what you're not getting any yuan.
The last time I read news in a chinese website it was about how a girl died playing world of warcraft for two days straight.
It's stable as in, it's not changing its links around every hour.
